Chicago!

So about a month ago, my oldest sister decided to take my niece to Chicago to see Wicked for her 16th birthday party. They were going to go and visit my other sister who lives in Chicago. So naturally when this plan was coming together, my mom wasn't going to miss out on a party and she decided to go. Well as you can probably guess, Megan and I couldn't miss the chance to see a show and see some of my family, so we invited ourselves, and planned a quick trip up to Chicago. We all love the music from Wicked and were very excited to see a show. It was the first broadway show for Megan and we were not disappointed.

Because of my class schedule we left Thursday night at about 7:00 and drove to my sister's house. It took about 5 hours, and I might add that if you have to drive through Chicago, late at night or early in the morning is a good way to go. So on Friday Megan and I and my sister and brother in law all piled into a borrowed minivan (we could tell more exciting stories about the minivan, but those will have to wait) and headed to Chicago to pick up my other sister and my niece at the airport and then spend some time in Chicago. My mom graciously agreed to watch the three kids for the day and they spent the morning in joy school and then the afternoon with grandma. It made it nice to be able to have a day without Maggie while we were wandering the streets. We went to a great Greek place and had some flaming cheese that was divine and some great lamb and gyros. Then we went to a great natural history museum and for a fun walk over to see this huge silver bean that was polished for something like 3 years. Then on Saturday we went to a very nice lunch before we saw Wicked and we just loved it. It was an excellent show and any of you get the chance I definitely recommend it. Then we decided to get up early Sunday morning and drove back to be home in time for church, so it wasn't as much time with our family as we would have liked, but we will see some of them at Thanksgiving. All in all it was a great weekend and I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Hi Megan!! I am so glad I found your blog! I can't believe how big Maggie is now. She is so adorable and cute. So, you've moved to Bloomington? That is really neat! How long will you be there? It was a lot of fun for me to catch up on you!

Looks like fun! Glad you could go and have a good time--especially by yourselves-- for a little getaway in city!
