this month is such a special one

So February has come and gone (well in 36 more minutes). It was a great month and we had some really great highlights. First off was Maggie's birthday. She is now 4 years old, and she was very excited. We had a real birthday party (minus presents) where friends came over and we had 9 kids total. It was nice that we could do it on a day when I (justin) didn't have to be on campus so we had a pretty good time. Maggie just wanted to have cereal for lunch (I think with the helpful suggestions of her mother) and so we made the whole thing a cereal theme. We had some games where they had to pass a fruit loop on a spoon, eat the cereal off of their necklace and a cereal walk (instead of cake walk) where they won those little boxes of cereal. And of course Megan had the brilliant idea to make the cake like a bowl of cereal. It turned out great and she put ice cream in the middle for milk, and fruit loops on top (the fruit loops actually tasted really good with it). All in all it was very fun.

Then a few days later, Megan thought it would be fun to have a 'pinkalicious' party on Valentines day, so she decorated and we had pink pancakes with pink whip cream, pink smoothies with strawberries. It was very tasty.

Finally, this past week we received some great news that I got accepted into the PhD program here at IU! Yeah!! We are still waiting to hear back from BYU and Utah State to see if they can beat IU's offer, but we are thrilled to have been accepted. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks we will hear from the others and be able to make a final decision. BYU and IU are both great programs and I go back and forth thinking about them. Hopefully we will know more soon.

All in all, it has been a great month. We are so very blessed.

A cereal party! That is genius, Megan. That is the cutest cake I have ever seen! You should send the idea to a magazine like Family circle, I'll bet they would love it. Glad to see Justin wearing his green birthday shirt, also love the clean shaven face! What's up at IU around May 7th? I'm also checking out the May Festival. Could be a party!

The cake is DARLING! You are amazing.

And I can't help but notice Jenna is right next to Maggie in all the pics -- I hope she didn't hog the birthday girl!

IU! IU! IU! (I want you to stay here for purely selfish reasons.)
